Jessy's Reflection
Elfdalian is one of those wondrous mysterious languages which inspired Tolkien. Its speakers dwell in a part of Sweden so remote that they were still writing in runes up until the twentieth century. A couple of pages on how Elfdalian could still be written in runes today is included in the back.
The violent details of revolution are a fact of history. There's no escaping that. Some might say there's too much crammed into this book for children to comprehend. Then again, it's more likely to be read by an older audience with an interest in learning Elfdalian than by native speakers wanting to learn English.
As Taoshen is from a tropical country, I had to laugh about how hard it was to explain Swedish weather to him. There are some things you just can't understand until you've experienced them yourself.
